The Bitter Taste of My Silence

Deep within the wellspring of a soul, the tear is birthed, An emotion so powerful, it quakes the earth.
Triggered by love, once lost now gone, The journey of a tear begins with a bitter song.

It gathers at the corner of an eye, A tiny droplet, reflections of the sky.
Storied it begins with a heart’s deep ache, A love once whole, now painfully break.

As it glistens, poised to fall, It holds the weight of memories, one and all.
From joyous laughter to the sorrow profound, This tear’s life is a journey unbound.

Rolling down the cheek, moist trail it leaves, The tear carries with it the heart that grieves.
Each inch it travels, it tells buried a tale, Of love, of loss, of dreams that pale.

It glides over the curve of the lip, Where love’s sweet whispers once did slip.
Now all that remains is the salty brine, A poignant reminder of a love divine.

The salt on the tongue, a soured note, Of a love that was, now remote.
Touches that once burned bright and clear, Now lingers only in the bitterness of a tear.
