Fleeting Days and Fading Nights

There will be stories of golden days,
When we sat lost in a summer haze,
Drifting through hours as the sun softly fades,
While moonlight whispers secrets it saves.

Memories linger, both tender and vast,
Guiding us gently through hardships past.
Nostalgia stirs when shadows creep in,
A bittersweet echo of what once had been.

Funny to think it felt destined to stay,
Yet fleeting like embers, it faded away.
Cherished moments now etched in the heart,
A tapestry woven, yet torn apart.

Regret may rise where choices were sown,
But lessons endure, and we’ve always grown.
Endings arrive like tides on the sea
What is, in the end, is what’s meant to be.

Sittin’ on The Dock of the Bay Song by Otis Redding kept playing in my mind while I worked on this one, especially the line 'watching the tides roll away.'
