Formica
ephemeral,
like a cheap motel room sunrise,
the air thick with cigarette smoke
and regret,
a fuchsia stain blooming
on the chipped formica.
zephyr
whispers secrets,
loquacious gossip
of the wind,
obfuscating the truth
in a kaleidoscope of lies.
