To an Unknown Maiden, A Sonnet

Wilst thou givest me a lotus, my love?
Thou art mine heart and mine own cheerful song.
A summer’s day brings sunshine from above.
In thine eyes I see the hot season long.

Toward the edge of hope and on the bend.
The river winds ushering life’s blessed gift.
A child for us is hidden at its end
Thy bosom’s bond is holy as thy shrift

Anon, fair maid and yet there will be night
Her moonbeams shalt surround thy darling face
With stars that twinkle on like candles bright
To bring thy dreams to pass with heaven’s grace.

So lay thee down to rest, my goodly one
Keep thou this kiss beyond the rising sun.

About this poem

Some mysteries to life are when would be lovers find themselves hopeful things beyond their reach. Inspired by Ankhesenamun's love for Tutankhamun.

He has experienced both fatherland and motherland (Germany, and Great Britain), as a recipient of divine mercies after the empathetic compassions of his Master, Jesus Christ, the Savior of the world. more…

I truly love Sonnets. Through the process of writing some I became aware of how difficult they are to write. You have told a beautiful love story masterfully. Excellent.
