Welcomed Home

A life given,
A girl driven,
Life forsaken,
Another soul taken.

Early departure,
Afflicted conscience,
Conflicted heart,
By impulses born of trauma’s art.

Reality’s grip, harsh and cold,
A fatal truth, harshly told.
Paths divided, wounds unseen,
Fates sealed in shadows between.

An angel takes flight,
A lost soul finds light,
Welcomed home,
In her mothers' arms, open wide on the other side.

A little girl, free at last,
Released from burdens of the past.
May you lay peacefully, resting for eternity.

A touching tribute. Both our new poems, yours and mine, celebrate the lives of departed loved ones.
