Haunted House

Hushed whispers weave through Hannah's home,
At night, the ghosts return to roam.
Unseen, the steps that creak the floor–
Nocturnal guests outside her door.
Thick fog seeps in behind the dead;
Entrapped, she hides beneath her bed.
Disturbing chants ring sharp and clear;

Her name resounds for all to hear.
Outside the veil, a truth now taunts:
Undead, the souls young Hannah haunts.
She leaves her body in its tomb,
Each night, to dwell inside her room.

    Young lady, you’ve got talent. Take it in stride and enjoy the ride. Let it flow gracefully, without too much pride. Surely then, your talent will not be denied. I hope you can by this message abide.

    Creatively clever and cleverly creative, as always! I like the way it appears that Hannah is being haunted in the first stanza, then you find she's doing the haunting in the second.

    Wow - amazing. I love how you leave the reader themselves asking paranoid questions through the whole poem - who is this, what is she doing, why is she here. Just like watching a horror movie. Well done!

    Very clever! I tried an acrostic poem with my "Remember" entry a couple of months ago, but it was a flop because of how it was printed. I had to go back and read yours again. Then my old light bulb flashed. Good job Jess!
    As usual.
