M&M's

I was thinking about my girlfriend
I was thinking how she's my best friend

I love her soft little round lip's
Fast asleep eye's closed she mumbles shit
If I ask her a question she'll answer it

If I'm careful not to wake her up
She says a lot of hilarious stuff

If I touch her while she's sleeping and still sitting up
She says why are you frisking me babe what the f*ck

I say I'm not frisking you I'm helping you
She reaches for her M&M's and says thank you

She falls fast asleep stuffing M&M's in her cheek's
Plus the two handfuls she has hidden from me

With a smile on her face and her eyes closed
she says I'm sorry babe I won't eat M&M's in bed

I say don't be sorry, but you're making a mess
You've got melted M&M's all over your chest

She gets this real pouty face and say's don't take my snack treats
If you take my candy away what will I eat

I start laughing and that wakes her up
She grins looks at me and says I'm sorry what

We laugh like crazy while I tell her what she said We laugh like crazy while we both lay in bed

I thought about how sometimes she thinks she isn't pretty
In dis belief all that I can say is really

I tell her that she's beautiful warm and gentle
That's nice of you to say she says then she calls me mental

As she falls back asleep she loosens her grip
Two handfuls of M&M's began to slip

Under the blankets and into her lap
M&M's everywhere in fact as she naps

I think about how she's adorable when her hands are full
Warming her M&M's because they don't pop when they're cool

I think about how she likes to model clothes When she wears her beanies my heart always grows

I think about how I need to show her more often All the things she does that I love when I spot them

I think about how she's so soft-spoken
Warm and inviting heart wide open

I think about all of this
I think about all of that
I think about her more than I even know in fact

Her infectious ways on display as she plays
Her child like interest warms my fully grown cold days

Like how her round face makes my heart race How her short hair frames that round face

I thought about how she's a dedicated mother Even though her kids are with another

I thought about how as a parent she thinks she's failing
That the opportunistic father is prevailing

I thought about how she deserves the credit
For keeping it all together when circumstance wouldn't let it

Anyway I thought about it
Even though all she does is doubt it

My girl is top shelf and number one
But what do I know I'm just dumb

One thing I know for certain
Plays over hit the lights and drop the curtain
