Reflection

Reflection

I envision a time and place
which I must relate:
a sight of purity and brightness
that reflects onto you
When I look into your eyes
and see what happiness really
means to me, and how all we
share it makes life worth living.

To the fullest, with no regrets
I say to you:
“When I look into your eyes
I see beauty within
you that lies deep
in your bone and marrow,
radiating this age of beauty
to capture your soul in
moments of peace and tranquility.”

These transcend any myth
that would say, “ Love is
never worth the wait, so press on
and find another.”

I recall a time and place
where I once found myself
In regret and tears,
but those are now removed.

For I see you on a
rosy bed of satin,
glaring at a dawn horizon
and the stars of many
night’s passing.
And I reflect on a place
and time when you
nearly drowned in your own tears
and pain, and I learned
from that.

I reflect how each day I laid
my eyes upon your face
and how I captured it
for eternity.
Yes, I reflect…

So beautiful and profound, LaShandia. Thank you for sharing a piece of yourself. Shout out to 72nd Street East, Tacoma where I lived for two years early 80s.
