LAMP STAND

So many traumas; all at once
Every line, inside my veins collapsed
My blood didn't flow the same
I won't name any names
There's too, many to mention
They left me... to fend for themselves
I left me...to fend for them

They judged me
Although, I never judged them
Of course, they still used me, as their work horse
Or counselor
Unpaid...I might add
They smiled in my face, as they slipped
money out of my back pocket
I saw, but I turned a blind eye
I knew, they were desperate
I've been there
Men said, "They loved me"
While, they hit on my friends
I saw with...God's eyes
But,
They still told me, I was a liar
Which, put me in greater distress
I'm not as weak, as people think I am
I'm not as dumb, as people I think I am
Then, again...
Maybe, I am
Just a doormat
Collecting every bit of muddy, water and messy, misunderstanding
This world really is
I could get angry and mad
The truth is....
We are all just doing the best we can
With what we know at the time
If I have learned anything
It's to be a different angle
To see a knew perspective
Against, what others tell us is the right reaction
Or the what is the wrong reaction
So I take my lamp
And set it upon this stand
