'Til She Sings

Now I know why the poets write
'cuz here I go!
..her face..her way..her light.

Not even close ..have I seen or felt before-
such an energy go right to my core.

She's right next door ..a mere few feet away-
but there's nothing I can do ..and nothing I can say.

Off limits ..our ages so wide apart-
who's played this trick on me from the start?

Now for me she so lovely sings -
from her heart written on Seed**
..fully smitten already -there was hardly a need.

She'll leave me soon -'cuz that's what always happens..
that mean 'ol trickster back happy to press my buttons.

But I'll have those sweet songs to remember her by..
and sing them right along with her -trying not to cry.

'Til then ..good feelings I'll endeavor to keep-
with silence and distance ..so hard to meet.

For this beautiful young woman ..I'll someday wonder-
was she real ..or a dream?
Hazy for a spell
