Slow Down

Slow down life is not a race,
Slow down and give God space,
Slow down and take things at His pace,
Just slow down.

Slow down embrace the morning sunrise,
Slow down and look into a child's eyes,
Slow down life is full of surprise,
Just slow down.

Slow down and listen to a robin sing,
Slow down see the chicks gather in their mother's wing,
Slow down acknowledge Christ as King,
Just Slow down.

Slow down and watch the stars at night,
Slow down as they twinkle oh so bright,
Slow down everything will turn out right,
If you just Slow down.

Very True. Speed kills in so many ways both physically and mentally.

Slow down is emphatically patience , that it means.
Milton ,'s lines ,They also serve who stand and wait.

If you just slow down ,
A song that praises God , is eternal .
    I like the song. Symphony.
Though not met , I wish you good health and happiness.
    Regards,

thanks. I haven't been here for awhile due to writing Ben's Sweet Act of Kindness the children's book. We all need to slow down at times and learn to live in the present moment. Not always easy though. Kim

What a beautifully poignant poem! Your use of repetition with the phrase "slow down" creates a soothing rhythm that perfectly captures the essence of your message. The imagery you evoke—morning sunrises, children's eyes, and the twinkling stars—paints a vivid picture of the simple yet profound joys in life. It's a gentle reminder to appreciate the little moments and to take a breath amidst the chaos of everyday life.

Your emphasis on spirituality, particularly with lines referencing God and Christ, adds depth and warmth to the poem, inviting readers to reflect not just on their pace but also on their connection to faith and the greater universe. The structure is clear and effective, allowing the reader to easily follow along and resonate with each sentiment.

For improvement, consider exploring the unique feelings or stories behind each moment you describe. Perhaps you could delve a little deeper into what slowing down means to you personally. This added layer could invite readers to connect with your experiences and insights on an even more intimate level.

Additionally, varying the sentence structure could enhance the poem's musicality. Mixing shorter lines with longer, more descriptive ones can create a dynamic flow that captivates the reader's attention even more.

Overall, your poem is a heartfelt celebration of mindfulness and appreciation for life's moments. Keep it up! I can't wait to see how you continue to develop your poetic voice!
