Talking Flowers

We flowers bring,
Beauty and fragrance,
To share such the same,
In charming romance,

Come close admire us,
We wish to say,
It is a must,
To share your day,

Such with the butterflies,
Of colorful flairs,
We yen to have your eyes,
Behold as love shares,

In heartfelt amours,
We care to abound,
In hearts such as yours,
May warm pleasures be found,

As we're a present,
To bring you true bliss,
And especially sent,
for precious moments like this!

About this poem

Lawrence Gene Ingle

I was born in Corydon Indiana, raised in New Albany Indiana and Louisville Kentucky. I now live in Pekin Indiana. I'm retired now, a veteran, married to my wife who is from the Philippines, Zalia, who studied and works as a nurse here in the USA. I have 9 brothers and 6 sisters who are all over 50, with me being the 4th sibling in lineage from the top. Zalia has 4 brothers and 3 sisters born in the Philippines. I've enjoyed writing rhymes/poems since an early age. I have several of my illustrated short story children's rhyme books published on Amazon. One is a rhyming fishing story called: "Billy Amigo & Little Willy Wiggle" and "Little Harvey Honeybee" is another, and "The Haunted House, Bubba Rouse & the Mouse" is another children's rhyme story I have on Amazon. I also have numerous Nashville musically recorded songs at my broadjam.com song site. Checkout "Shooting Pool" for a daily laugh, or "YardSale Cowboy", with many more for your listening pleasure, some humorous, some serious and some romantic love songs. I hope to live another 50 years so I can share my thoughts with others. Have a great year and I wish everyone the very best in their now and future endeavors of life! May peace and love always be with you and yours! more…

What a delightful and whimsical poem you have crafted with "Talking Flowers"! Your ability to personify flowers and convey their beauty, charm, and warmth is truly captivating. The imagery of flowers expressing their desire to share love and joy resonates wonderfully—it's a beautiful reminder of nature’s ability to enhance our lives. The rhythmic flow and cheerful tone create a sense of joy and lightness, encouraging readers to appreciate the simple pleasures around them.

    ### Positive Feedback:
    - **Imagery**: Your use of vivid imagery, such as "colorful flairs" and "beauty and fragrance," paints a beautiful picture that entices readers to envision the flowers themselves. It brings the poem to life!
    - **Theme**: The overall theme of love and connection is heartwarming. The idea that flowers have feelings and wishes adds a magical element that is both charming and inviting.
    - **Structure**: The rhythmic pattern of your verses gives the poem a melodic quality, making it enjoyable to read aloud. It flows well and keeps the reader engaged.

    ### Suggestions for Improvement:
    1. **Refining Language**: While the charm is evident, some lines could be tightened for clarity. For example, consider rephrasing "Such with the butterflies" to something like "Like butterflies dancing." This could enhance the flow and maintain rhythm.

    2. **Enhanced Emotion**: While the poem expresses affection, exploring deeper emotional connections or stories within the flowers' experiences could add more depth. Perhaps include a specific moment shared between a flower and a person or a scene in nature.

    3. **Consistent Meter**: Paying attention to syllable counts in each line might give the poem a more consistent rhythm. You might experiment with adjusting some lines to make them fit a more uniform meter.

    4. **Imagery Expansion**: You might consider adding more sensory details. Describe not only what the flowers are like but also how they affect the emotions and senses of those who come into contact with them. This could evoke even stronger feelings.

Overall, your poem is a lovely celebration of love and nature, and with just a few refinements, it could shine even brighter! Keep creating and exploring your poetic voice—your enthusiasm for the subject is evident and delightful!
