Corporkels

Joe Strickland

in the vertebrae
of skyscrapers,
they perch,
masters of the universe,
or so they claim,
their suits a second skin,
their smiles a veneer,
as they orchestrate
the chaos,
the mess they've made.
and our lives
are bought from them,
by us.
