Madrid

Hans Christian Andersen 1805 (Odense) – 1875 (Copenhagen)

Spaniens Hovedstad, nei
    hvor Du dog reent har afslidt
Alt, hvad der præger som Spansk;
    Du har saa Lidt kun af dit.
Man er i Wien, i Paris,
    ikke i Spanien længer.
Nordens raakolde Skyer
    her ret i Velmagt jo hænger;
Graat, vaadt, sølet og raat
    er her. Ei vil jeg klage
Meer over Hjemmets Clima,
    vor Novembertids Dage,
Sølede, taagede, hu!
    det er, jeg er i Madrid!
Ørkenstad, o hvor Du dog
    ligner dit Spanien lidt!
