Happy Birthday

Another year has passed,
Yet you don’t any feel older
“Make a wish!”, mom cries,
As she hovers over your shoulder
You sit there for a moment,
As you try to choose a wish
What could you possibly need?,
Besides this cake sliced on a dish

You don’t know what you want,
Yet you decide to blow them out
Mom asks what you wished for,
But there was nothing to wish about
Knife in hand you cut the cake ,
And as you serve yourself a big slice
You think you’ve decided on a wish,
To be younger would be nice!
