A Dissonance

I am full of love, my friend,
I am so full of love.

For I love my fellow people
And I love the stars above
And each soft and furry critter
And the sinless birds that twitter
And the whole of this creation
And each free and warless nation.

And I’m just so filled with love, my friend,
So very filled with love,

That I’ll crush the head of any snake
To save a helpless dove
And I’ll only be with others,
Loving sisters and my brothers
Who all love as well as I do
And who share my sense of virtue
With no argument or strife
As I shape them to my life
For it truly is a crime
When a sinner wastes my time
Since I have my life to live
With such boundless love to give.

And we alone know love, my friend,
We few who understand.

And all people would be better
If they bowed to our demand
That we must eliminate
All those we judge are full of hate
Since all creatures are the same
Except the ones we choose to blame
For the hatred that they sample
Though we’ve set the best example
And it is our duty to contain
The sinners and to cause them pain
So enemies are filled with fear
To know in time they’ll disappear.

And I will hunt you down, my friend,
Yes I will hunt you down.

For as I spoke to you of love
I saw your sad and hurtful frown
So we will find you guilty,
That your heart is dark and silty
Since you dared refuse our guiding
We will chase you from your hiding
And the love song will be sung
As we’re pulling out your tongue
And because you would not hear
It is with love we shred each ear
Then we’ll mount you to a post
As we curse your dying ghost.

For we do all things with love, my friend.
We’ve saved the earth for love.

For we love our love of loving
And our love of love is love
And the blood we use to wash the hate
Is blood of those who don’t relate
And when the cleansing is complete
Our love will be so very sweet.

Perfectly titled anthem of a cultural attitude spreading around the globe.

"There are none so blind as those who will not see. The most deluded people are those who choose to ignore what they already know.” (John Heywood, 1546)
