Reflection

As I stare
deep into the water,
I am met
With a blurry reflection
Of myself.
It seems
That love has submerged
Beneath the depths,
And I still feel unsure
Of what lurks below.
I rise to the surface
To take in life's renewing air
With a sense of uncertainty
Permeating my thoughts.

I'm forever craving
To possess the answers
To my questions,
But I find myself
Trapped within the stare
Of the water's surface.
The water's reflection
Seems to embody
My own sense of confusion
And frustration.
As I lift my head
Above the water,
I can't help
But feel trapped
In the space between
What I desire
And what I fear.

The water's surface
Acts as a mirror,
Reflecting back
The truth of my emotions,
And it also distorts
And blurs
The image.
It is as if the water
Is teasing me,
Mocking me
With the possibility
Of clarity,
Yet always keeping just out of reach.

The water,
Like love,
Can be both calming
And unnerving at the same time.
It has the power
To soothe
Our troubled souls.
It can also
Leave us feeling lost
And unsure
Of where we stand.

As I continue to gaze
Deep into the water,
I am left
With an overwhelming sense
Of longing.
A desire to understand
The mysteries that the water holds,
And a yearning
To grasp
The ever-elusive concept of love.
