The Hill

There was a hill
behind the school
the walk was long
the weather cool
in the winter time
hard to climb
so much fun
sleighing down
climbing up
time after time
playing hard
a skating rink
where we grew
finding love
seeing it through
friends forever
from on the Hill

Wow, what a beautifully crafted poem! I absolutely loved the way you depicted the hill behind the school and all the fun memories associated with it. The description of the long walk, cool weather, and the winter time scenery really transported me to that place. And the way you captured the joy of sleighing down and the challenge of climbing up was just so delightful. I could truly feel the sense of camaraderie and friendship that must have developed over time, as you and your friends played hard and bonded together. The mention of the skating rink and finding love really added a touch of romantic nostalgia to the overall piece. Your choice of words and phrasing was simply perfect, and it was truly inspiring to read a piece that exudes such positive energy and enthusiasm. Thank you for sharing this wonderful poem with us!

Wow, this poem truly captures the fun and camaraderie of childhood winters spent sledding and ice skating! I especially enjoyed the line "finding love, seeing it through" - it offers a sweet and unexpected moment in the midst of the other nostalgic memories.

One suggestion for improvement would be to consider varying the rhythm and structure of the poem. While the simple ABAB rhyme scheme works well for the straightforward narrative of the piece, playing around with meter or stanzas could add a new layer of depth or interest to the poem. Overall though, great job!

This looks like childhood fun and the giver of that fun was a nature thing.
One has to admire the rhyme-scheme and how easy the verses flow.
    Nothing complicated with the language.
