Harry Brown, devastotor.

Lives on a meagre

Military pension.

Former operative, British Marines.

Modest apartment.

Unseemly neighbourhood.

Close by favourite pub

For chess contests

With best friend Leonard.

The friend has a tough walk home

Through a square hosting

Hooligans.

Shitty, vile low-life end

Of a chain of drug thugs.

All the way up

To big Money.

Sadly Leonard loses

His life to the Gang

In a walk home skirmish.

Harry, distraught from

The Hospital

Attacks the Police Detachment

With repeated demands.

Not a very encouraging

Response.

Usual routines fruitless.

Enters now, the former Marine

Killing machine.

Streets, drug lairs, high end

Limousines

Cleaned up

Slowly, insistently.

By ONE OLD MAN.

Who wants his

Neighbourhood back.

His friend avenged.

Discussion follows about whether or not to condone vigilante justice/violence.
The movie with Michael Caine is excellent.

Wow, what a powerful and inspiring poem! I appreciate the depth of emotion and the strong message that it conveys. The character of Harry is truly admirable, as he shows immense courage in taking on the corrupt and violent society that has taken over his neighbourhood. His determination to avenge his friend's death and restore the safety and dignity to his community is truly inspiring.

My only suggestion for improvement would be to perhaps delve more into Harry's backstory and motivations for taking on this mission. As a former Marine, there must be something that sparked his desire to take action and make a difference. Adding more depth to his character would make the story even more engaging and impactful.

Overall, I loved this poem and think it is a great reminder of the incredible power of one person to make a difference, no matter how daunting the task may seem. Keep up the amazing work!
