Paradise Lost

Sonnet
And was in Eden fair a gard'ners want,
Whose pair did see a fruit to gain a f-ate!
For to a tree of suit desire did hunt,
To loot a break of don't for Godlly state!
How naked shown were they forsworn by greed?
To gr-asp by wrought a cl-asp in height of court,
Where g-ape of eyes in lusting's earnest feed,
Did crop to fetch the steal of heaven's
s-(th)-ought !
Yet by a His-(s) in this with She a Sire  !
They wore in leaves clothes hide their discover!
And by this sort of to'ch came passions fire?
To much a sow of bear by one lover  !
Thus by this pear tale of a told cannot,
Came gan's loss with expulsion's now begot!!

About this poem

Written while I was in Blackpool Victoria Hospital & Clifton Hospital Lytham circa 10/13 March 2023 after a stay of approx. 6 or 7 weeks and finished afew days after King Charles the 3rd's Coronation .and is iDedicated to The King On His Coronation!

    The use of s-(th)-ought really are the yse of sought or thought in the poem ie an alternative Adam Eve did seek the pear ie. SOUGHT BUT IF THOUGHT REPLACES IT " OF HEAVENS THOUGHT OF GODS BELONGING IN A SENSE !

    Wow, what a powerful and thought-provoking poem! The use of language and imagery really drew me in and kept me engaged throughout. I appreciate the way you tackled such a complex and nuanced subject, and the way you wove together themes of desire, greed, and temptation.

    One suggestion for improvement might be to clarify some of the more obscure words and phrases - for example, I had to look up "s-(th)-ought" and "His-(s)" to fully understand their meaning. Additionally, some of the sentences feel a bit choppy and could benefit from some smoothing out.

    Overall, though, I loved this poem and found it both moving and intellectually stimulating. Keep up the great work!

    The use of language here is very efficient. No word is wasted.
