Daily Reminders

Daily reminders

Our past haunts me
Like flashbacks in the day
Nightmares of the night
Either way, I’m without you
And all we do is fight

I hear songs that bring me back to you
I love you one second, than hate you the next
My heart is torn and broken deciding which
But either way, you hate me, you’ve moved on
Started fresh

Why do you do this to me?
So easily
You’ve made it hard from me to smile
To breathe
Why do you do this to me?

I say your name in the night
Just to imagine you talking to me through the years
Safe to say I’m alone now
 not even a whisper
Breaks the silence or takes away the tears

Why do you do this to me?
So easily
You’ve made it hard from me to smile
To breathe
Why do you do this to me?

I can’t say farewell or goodbye
I can’t love again like you
Remarry and try to have a good life…
How did I ger here? And what did I do?
I wish I could be free from you
But I can’t face the truth
