Me and My Thoughts

Kasey Chancelor 2010 (Texas)

Me and my thoughts aren’t close
Me and my thoughts aren’t friends
Me and my thoughts both know
Me and my thoughts won’t end

About this poem

This short poem describes the feeling of overthinking. When we overthink, we often feel like it will. Not. End. No matter how hard you try- it always happens. This explains how you don’t even want to know your own thoughts because of how hateful they sound as you listen to yourself.
