I Believe In You

Charles Edward York 1966 (Saigon, Vietnam)

I Believe In You

I believe in the breeze you are
Blowing the wind you bring
For though I can’t see you
I feel the air and smile
You came into my life
From somewhere far away
And stole my gaze
When my eyes weren’t looking
And now I can’t see
Anyone else but you
Before I was sleep walking
And now my eyes
Open to a whole new world.

You make me believe in dreams
Becoming true despite disbelief
After so many illusions
Breaking into pieces
You show me what real love is
Holding me so precious
By healing my hurt away
Yesterday behind me
Today you touch me
Making the future with me
I believe in you
Sounds like us
Meant always to be forever!
