Taking chances

Darken skies that seem at a time like never-ending...
I've never thought of seeing sunnier days again
They say love is blind and after experiencing myself... it's true
Only when the tears are all dried up and realizing it happened to you

You wonder if someday this overwhelming pain will ever go away...
Lost in a whirlwind of darkness you somehow just lost your way
Then when you think all hope is gone and fading into the blight...
Along comes someone new to shine some energy onto your dimming light

Hesitant at first you wonder if this moment is legit or another snatcher of souls...
Time goes by an instant with this person the broken pieces are finally becoming whole
You're feeling and experiencing emotions that were once lost and re-discovered
Trying to close your eyes and open them up again to see if the dream is over

To be taken back to a place with your spirit renewed with this chance encounter
Afraid to be hurt again but you want to experience the joy of being this person's lover
A breath of relief but there are no promises made yet for tomorrow
Everything can be gone in the blink of an eye for that is the end of the show

Never take anything for granted because in life you may never know
So I'll enjoy the times spent together; let fate decide and go with the flow
Hoping that every day can be lived for a moment like this
To enjoy that person's touch, embrace and savor every kiss.
