Prime Time
Lawrence S. Pertillar 1947 (Connecticut)
Prime time to come.
And to pass so many to leave stunned.
By the swift blooming begun.
Between dawn and the rush for noon.
Coming for some much too soon.
As that slow to rise morning Sun,
Begins to wither away...
The appearance of one's youthfulness done.
So many live life to experience the expense,
Of witnessing their desires fade to expire.
Held tightly to hold onto hopes,
Their protesting stays maintaining...
That glow of longevity.
With a moisturizing from a jar sold to deceive.
Like power to have and grab it,
Automatically bestows upon the thieves...
A controlling to rule over others,
With royalty loyal and worshipped...
For all eternity.
Yet...
That isn't the way,
Prime time to watch and witness age.
From one stage of it to another.
Seldom is requested to return to visit.
Unless...
Such an age to notice,
Has kept an effective association...
With crooks and thieves.
Known quietly to finance,
The wicked misdeeds...
Of those behind the scenes pulling the strings.
To allow,
A prime of one's time that has decayed...
To remain as the main source that makes,
The selling of crime, controversy...
Division, conflict and chaos.
Money makers to pocket and profit.
More valuable,
Than the priceless lives lived by humanity.
'What is more valuable in life to have?'
Good credit.
And debts to ignore promising to repay!
'That doesn't make sense.'
Neither does asking anyone,
If they have change for a dollar.
To use where for what and why?
'And...
That has what to do with prime time?'
When gone it's gone.
Only deception to fraud is left.
Keeping the face of it,
Renovated to cover up the B.S. kept faked.
'Ooooo.
Someone woke up,
On the wrong side of the bed this morning.
Huh?'
Don't start winding me up,
With that 'woke' stuff.
That's my problem.
I'm too awake.
And way past my prime.
How about you?
