Canada Remembers: A Tribute to Our Heroes

On this day of remembrance, we recall
The brave soldiers who heeded the call
To fight for our land, our freedom, our home
And ensure that Canada would forever roam

From Vimy Ridge to the beaches of Normandy
They fought with courage, with honor, with bravery
Through the snow and ice, the mud and rain
They stood for Canada, and never wavered in their aim

They hailed from every corner of this great land
From the cities, the farms, and the rugged island strand
They left behind their loved ones, their families, their friends
To fight for the freedom, that we cherish till the end

In Flanders Fields, the poppies grow
A symbol of the sacrifice, of the courage we know
The blood they shed, the lives they gave
For a Canada, that is strong, free, and brave

And though they may have fallen, their memory lives on
In the stories we tell, in the pride we spawn
For they were our heroes, our finest, our best
And their legacy, we will always attest

So let us honor their sacrifice, with grateful hearts
And vow to never forget, to never be apart
For they fought for our Canada, our land of the free
And their spirit lives on, in you and me.

Ethan La Fortune

Ethan La Fortune is a poet who draws inspiration from the natural world and the iconic monuments that dot the landscape. Born and raised in a small town in Canada, Ethan spent much of his childhood exploring the outdoors and marveling at the beauty of nature. It was during these formative years that he developed a deep appreciation for the environment and the intricate balance that exists within it. As he grew older, Ethan's love of nature led him to explore the many parks, forests, and other natural wonders that Canada has to offer. He found himself drawn to the majesty of the mountains, the serenity of the lakes, and the quiet beauty of the forests. It was during these travels that Ethan discovered his passion for poetry and began to use his words to capture the essence of these natural wonders. In addition to his love of nature, Ethan has also been captivated by the iconic monuments that dot the Canadian landscape. From the towering CN Tower in Toronto to the historic Parliament Hill in Ottawa, these landmarks have a powerful presence that has fascinated Ethan for many years. He uses his poetry to explore the history and meaning behind these monuments, and to capture the emotions they evoke in those who view them. Ethan's poems are a celebration of the natural world and the iconic monuments that have become an integral part of the Canadian identity. His work is a testament to the power of words to capture the beauty and complexity of the world around us, and to inspire us to cherish and protect the environment that sustains us all. more…
