Thoughtlessly Deceived

Forgiveness given to get and receive,
Is as much a part of life...
To expect.
Like lies to tell repeatedly.
No matter how rotten to the core,
The deceiver may be.
Denial is a practice perfected,
And a justified alibi...
For hypocrites rushing quick to lie.

Although being held accountable,
Is as rare these days to hear confessed.
Without pressure to address,
One's integrity to protect.
It sometimes will take,
Wanting a price to have it paid.
And not a forgiveness given to get.
Since what one does,
Deliberately done to do to another...
Will never heal who has been victimized.
Regardless how exorbitant,
That price has been judged...
To assist the mending,
Of one's wounded memory.

'Even though it is known,
The millions of dollars...
You have been awarded,
For your unjustified agony inflicted.
It is the hope,
Your suffering has not been in vain.'

'Hey...
You know,
I had at least expected an apology...
For what was done to me.
However...
My forgiveness given to give it,
Will long be forgotten by them to remember...
Than it will take me,
To spend the money I intend that prolongs...
My healing to mend,
From a forgiveness I gave to them.
And...
Plucked with a payment from their pockets.
Bringing a lifetime of tears to their eyes.
Not mine to have been the judge or jury!'
