The Windy Breeze

The Windy Breeze

You are the windy breeze
I can’t see you touching me
But I can definitely
Feel you are there
So many days go by
And I take for granted
You are as close as my breath
Even though distances
Separate you from me
Yet here you are
Close as a thought
And a dream come true.

Your face is my sunshine
Turning night into day
Lighting the Moon
Among all those stars
My sadness ripples
Transformed
By your sweet caress
My upset softens
Taking its leave
As we make our way
Across from tears to smiles.

Your gentle way brings me out
Elevating me higher
From dreary doldrums
Depressed valleys
And dark places
No one goes
Each of your gestures
Every tender word
Nourishes me
I am empowered
To endure and move on.

Your love is the fruit I bear
And I stand taller
From humble roots
Expanding
Growing so strong
Because it’s you
You branch out
Through my fragile life
Joy revives me
Without end
Declaring once and for all
I do matter
And I love you.

About this poem

I was inspired by my girlfriend and a windy breeze in Spring to write about how she lifts me up from my depression and suddenly blows away my sadness with her love.
