Rational Anthem

No way can we see
Why we spawn purely spite
Why so loudly we failed
At a fortnights last screaming

Whose trod gripes and blight scars
Screw the various rights
Oh, the cites they have squashed
Were so blatantly scheming

And the dockets read bare
The bums thirsting to err
Gave spoof to our rights
That their gag was still fair

Whoa, say does that far-fangled
Manner still waive
For demand of a fee
And the roam of the slave

I agree, quite clever - Steve. It's been in need of a rewrite for some time now.

Thanks, my friend. I thought it came out pretty good when I wrote it. Of course, it's sarcastic but seems pretty fitting considering our current state.

This is pretty 'star spangled' Steve. It caught my attention with it's blatant truth. I think you did a great job with the adaptation.

Not bad, right? LoL I couldn't resist. I didn't think I'd win anything with it, but it was too Steve to not post. I got one vote on each of my entries, so that's encouraging. ;-)

Thank you kindly, Sir. I wasn't sure how people would take it, but it was written in fun. I appreciate your kind words.
