Blackout
Dit kom nou van alles mix
Jy wil kamma die seer fix
Begin eers met brandy en Coke
Drink so totdat jy later choke
Toe was jy ook nog raak geklap
Toe jy die tavern deur instap
Met wimper aan slegs een oog
Daar sit jy nou hoog en droog
Als het jy keel af gegooi
Sien jy dan nie meer so mooi
Jy’s elk-een se maklike prooi
Smyt sommer jouself op enige kooi
Saam skrou jy met Judy Boucher
Lyk jy’t aleen ‘n Shoprite voucher
Hard praat jy lyk ek kan nie hoor
In jou kots het jy amper versmoor
Weet glad nie eens waar is jou bra
Jou vriende moes jou heel nag rond dra
Jy’t ook al jou skoen verloor
Nou dink jy weer jy’s mos getoor
Jou klere is ook al half geskeer
Nieman kan jou nou meer keer
Weer later OB en Milk Stout
Kry jy toe dan ‘n black out
Vroeg klop die polisie aan jou ma se deur
Want gisteraand was jou oe hare in-gekleur
Heel nag het jy so gedans
Nou loop jy vanmore nes ‘n gans
Aleen sit en huil plat in die sand
Soos ‘n paraffin lamp wat heel uit brand
Maak jy ons skoon bang
Want nou kry jy ook nog die tang
Soek jy plek-plek jou panty
Weet nie eens in wie se shanty
Dis glad nie ‘n grap
By die huis wag daar ‘n harde klap
Weg is jou pruik so mooi en blond
Want toe val jy mos rond en bond
Voel jy nou nes ‘n hond
Ruik tog net hoe stink jou mond
Diep skaam kan niks vrae vra
Want jy’t jouself glad nie gedra
Groot en swaar is jou kop
Knie diep is jy in die sop
Gaan le maar so paar dae laag
Hou jouself mal en vertraag
Sodra jy stadig weer nader kruip
Om weer lekker te gaan suip
Op horings dra sy weereens die shebeen
Kyk tog net hierdie dronkste queen
Begin net weer met soete Milk Stout
Van oors af kry jy die groot black out
About this poem
This is an Afrikaans poem, about someone who had a heavy night of drinking. At times we experience stress, anxiety and depression and not all of us handle it the same. We become intoxicated and does not remember how, when and where we end up after a heavy night of drinking. Anyone that went through this, remembers that morning when he/she woke up and had many questions. I was abused by my brother and that made me depressed as I wanted to take my own life so many times due to the above. However because God has been there for me, I am still here and I am trying to tell people that it's OK to go into a dark corner for a while, but you will come out of it one day. more »
