The Light of the World Went Out

Royston 1946 (Reading)

The dastardly deed was done.
We have crucified God’s Son.
This wonderful Man called Jesus,
stretched out His arms for us.
“Forgive them, Father,” He said,
and for us His blood was shed.

Then, “It is finished.” Jesus cried,
as He bowed His head and died.
There the price for sin was paid
by the sacrifice that He made.
Then the Light of the World went out
and the darkness could be felt...

…….. but Praise God  it did not end there ….
