O’ Mirror O’Love

O’ Mirror O’Love

Mirror, mirror on the wall,
You've deceived me after all
A mere reflection did I see,
Vanity's hold, it gripped me.

One day, I gazed into those eyes,
Piercing through your web of lies.
Revealing truth, my essence shown,
Now I know, myself I've known.
Mirror, you are nothing but a glass,
Blocking even the light that pass.

O mirror, let you dwell and stare,
Upon that wall, suspended there.
For love has come and found its place,
Embracing me in its tender grace.
Mirror, mirror, on that wall,
Stay affixed, as love befalls.

About this poem

This poem uses the metaphor of a mirror to explore the journey of self-discovery and the transformative power of love. The mirror serves as a symbol for vanity and superficial judgments, while the experience of love helps the speaker gain a deeper understanding of their true self.
