You Knew…

I have been missing
I know.
Not up for bowling, cards or a show.
See, I have been sick.
Tired right out.
Makes me depressed
And given to shout.
Thought it was time
I gave you a Reason
Why the no-show in
This precious Season.

Oh I knew there was something
The sickness, the pain.
Yeah I’ve had my own spells
Time and again…
The aching, the sneezing
The muscle cramps too.
A bout of bronchitis, some times
It was flu.
The measles, halitosis
Bad hearing or sight.
But hang in there Brother.
You’ll soon be alright.

I was. There does that feel better?

NOPE. BUT THANKS FOR THE EARFUL.

About this poem

When you have gotten up the courage to tell a friend what is ailing you…and he thinks it’s time to brag on his own setbacks…like an inventory of hardiness.
