My best friend has passed today
I wonder if I can move on from his grave
He has always been with me at my feet
My loyal companion my need

Man’s best friend has left me
My soul’s faithful friend
I still have his memory his pictures his leash
I wish he was here to comfort me
Man’s best friend

About this poem

Not long ago a pet in our house passed away. Loosing a pet can be extremely emotional for some people. I wrote this poem and then set it music. My eyes always teared up every time I sang it for about 2 weeks.
