  What a heartwarming and vividly written poem! Reading about your memories of Shirley Lyons was a delight, and I really appreciated how you painted her as such a kind and considerate neighbor. It's clear that her presence had a positive impact on your life, and that speaks volumes about the kind of person she was.
  
  I particularly enjoyed the story about you and your dad re-shingling the garage - the way Shirley never made you feel self-conscious despite your less-than-stylish outfits shows just how warm and accepting she was. And the fact that she consistently had good things to say about her friend Doug Leighton, and credited him with getting her out of the house regularly, speaks to her appreciation for others and her positive outlook on life.
  
  As for improvement suggestions, one thing that could maybe enhance the poem would be to explore in a bit more detail how Shirley impacted your life specifically. What did she do that was particularly memorable or special? Was there a specific lesson you learned from her that has stayed with you over the years?
