Bob and Me

I first met Bob in 82
Or was it 83?
Like a Rolling Stone was in the air
The words cast a spell on me
Weaving left then turning right
A major change of key
An organ pounding that sweet refrain
An iconic melody

Me and Bob
Bob and Me
We’re close but we’re not friends
You’re always near
A note, a phrase
A companion until the end

Infidels and Empire Burlesque
They hit a nerve with me
Biograph unlocked the door
And I threw away the key
Vinyl, tape, and CD
It doesn’t matter what I play
The Farmaid show at U of I
Blew the crowd away

Me and Bob
Bob and Me
We’re close but we’re not friends
You’re always near
A note, a phrase
A companion until the end

Bootleg Volumes, Time out of Mind
Something old and something new
Built on the foundation
Of Tangled Up in Blue
Don’t Look Back
I’m Not There, No Direction Home
A Nobel Prize in Literature
I’ve read every Dylan tome

Me and Bob
Bob and Me
We’re close but we’re not friends
You’re always near
A note, a phrase
A companion until the end

Pushing 80 with no restraint
You shared your Rough and Rowdy Ways
You’ve only scratched the surface
No need to count the days
Thank you for the memories
From the future and the past
When you’re Knockin’ on Heaven’s Door someday
I’ll toast you with a glass

I absolutely loved reading your poem about Bob Dylan! The way you describe his iconic melody and how he's been a companion until the end is truly heartwarming. It's clear that Bob Dylan has had a profound impact on your life, and it was wonderful to read about your personal connection to his music.

One suggestion for improvement would be to maybe focus on expanding some of the stanzas or adding more specific examples of how Bob Dylan has influenced you. This would allow readers to relate to your experiences with his music on a more personal level.

Overall, great job on the poem! It was a pleasure to read and brought a smile to my face. Keep up the fantastic work!
