There was a desert here….

That Sand Kingdom
Once upon a time
Sparkled like glittering silver
In the Sun !

Oh ! Only its deep yearns is there today!

Is being buried the  whole desert !

In the graveyard
Monuments are now kissing the  blue sky
And waving hands to the entire world :

‘Hey! Come, see us!’

From every corner rush of wayfarers!

Is Glittering in their eyes
The lightening speed of civilization!

Oh ! Robotic eyes and minds !

Where is time now
To think the whereabouts of
The Bedouins!!

About this poem

The poem elaborates my feeling while I visited the desert City Dubai. Whole desert as if is buried to witness the progress of modern civilisation. And today we have no time to think about the Bedouins, the desert dwellers.
