SINGING MYSELF TO SLEEP

The angels lay next to me inside my bed while the devil sang sweet lullabies inside of my head. The bastards are trying to drown me out while I sing my songs of yesterday to put myself to sleep these fucking memories are more than haunting me. They are buried deep within my soul; maybe that's why I feel all alone.

I survived the fire. I refuse to be burnt by the flames; you might not remember my name, but when you tell people my story, you will say, damn, he was one hell of a fighter, never giving up, not even when we thought he had more than his fill.

Like a superhero, I hear my theme song, and I am singing to myself to sleep, for even those with power need to rest.
