Chasing happy

My days aren’t always great but today I did not hate
The day went well enough you see for a simple person like me
I didn’t “live the dream” but it wasn’t a nightmare at all
I lived another day and survived another fall    (I guess)
Sun was shining through the clouds
Wind was blowing on my face
Even if I hated this place it still felt really great
And as the day closed, the sun done left me
Night time meant I was closer to happy
I curled up cozy and comfortable in my bed
There was no pain, no words were said
just a soft goodnight
And a kiss for my sleep
On to the next day chasing my happy.
