Tuscany to Revivify

She flew from California.
Writer, and fetching.
Nasty costly divorce.
But leftovers sufficient
For flight, accommodation.
Tuscany, Italy and the old ways
Of harvest, festivals, bells, families.
Revered elders.

Saint this and Saint that.
Happy simple villagers.
The Blessed Virgin
Lifting high the estate of marriage.
(She did have kids the normal way
After Son Number One.)
Fran lands an old house.
Seller grandma waited for a sign.
Got it. Something Fran did.

Francesca buys, improves.
Polish work crew, masons etc.
Name the finished villa Polona.
Sadly return to their lives.
But thankful.
Youngest lad marries
At Fran’s place.
Hearfelt, joyful party.

She got a Wedding at her place
A secret wish.
But no guy yet for Francesca.
Just you wait, Iisteners…
He’s a-coming.
Village folk love
Her helpful presence
Sing to her praise.

About this poem

This is really a wrap up on the movie, Under the Tuscan Sun (Diane Lane). Watched it this afternoon. Hilary and I were in the Girl’s corner. Hoping for a beau who would be just right.
