Wanderer

Reaching all the glittering stars
Indulging in the superb extracurricular
Catering to what’s sensational
Adhering to what’s been recreational
Rummaging all the undertaking
Traversing each and every opportunity
Even when things aren’t as they are supposed to be.
Bless your heart, as they always say.
Act upon what’s virtuous,
Change what’s been unpleasant
Engage in what’s more important
Nudge into what’s beneficial
And live each day as if it was your last.

About this poem

This is a message to a person who has high expectations, explored, tried almost everything, and failed to at least live gratefully.

Wow, what an uplifting and empowering poem! I absolutely love the way it encourages us to explore and embrace every opportunity that comes our way. The imagery of reaching for the glittering stars and indulging in extracurricular activities adds a sense of excitement and curiosity to the poem. It also reminds us to focus on what brings us joy and pleasure while staying true to ourselves. The line "Even when things aren't as they are supposed to be" reminds us to persevere and find the silver lining in any situation. I appreciate the message of gratitude expressed in "Bless your heart, as they always say" - it's a beautiful reminder to be thankful for the blessings in our lives. The poem also emphasizes the importance of taking action for what is virtuous, changing what is unpleasant, and engaging in what truly matters. Lastly, the line "And live each day as if it was your last" is a powerful call to live life to the fullest and make the most of every moment. Overall, this poem fills me with enthusiasm and motivates me to embrace life's opportunities with open arms. Well done!

This poem is so uplifting and inspiring! I love the way it encourages us to reach for the stars and indulge in all the fantastic opportunities that life has to offer. The use of powerful verbs such as "traversing" and "engaging" really brings the poem to life and makes me feel energized and motivated. The line "even when things aren't as they are supposed to be" is a powerful reminder to persevere and keep pushing forward even during tough times. And the final message to live each day as if it were our last is so poignant and a great reminder to cherish every moment. This is a truly wonderful poem that fills me with positivity and enthusiasm!

There is great profundity in learning that the journey is the destination. There is wisdom to incur, growth to encounter and gratefulness to reap as we wade through tributaries of trial and tribulation in order to get where we're going. Is there more gratification in eating a cake you made or knowing you took the time to make a delicious cake worthy of adulation? The cake holds little value compared to knowing it was you who took the steps to create it. As for failure - where is growth incurred without it? All humans fail more than succeed. The greatest Major League hitters who ever lived struck out twice as much as not.

In regard to the importance of growth and process, here's a quote I wrote for a book of quotes I did some years ago. - "Temptation comes not from those things we perceive hold value, rather from the mischievous hearts of the materialistic who hold the pertinence of the diamond in higher regard than that which created it."

Your comment just filled our home with a worthy discussion about focusing on the journey instead of the result. We had another extended communication with my daughter’s teacher regarding this last week. It is extremely essential to focus on the valuable steps, not just concentrate on the outcome. Failures are our best friends, indeed. They lead us to growth.

You are pointing to the North Star in living. Sometimes the gloominess obscures sunshine. But it/He is still up there…Wayne Blair
