From one to one

Robert Grenga 1978 (Auburn)

From one to one, I know that you have a lot to say,
Although we have never served together, we did every day.
I know things roll inside your head, some bad and some are okay,
From one to one, You need to know I’m here either way.

From one to one, on the outside we look just fine,
But on the inside our brains are like a land mine.
I know things roll inside your heart, the one on your sleeve that can’t draw a line.
From one to one, You need to trust that I will be there no matter the time.

From one to one, I know the battles have no end in sight,
With our lives rebuilt to serve for what is right.
I know things roll inside your soul, the darker side that keeps you up at night.
From one to one, in the bitter end it’s all worth the fight.
