The Worst Day of My Life

Faults embody those limits that I can't control
In part more their hostage to that I must cherish
Shattered glass makes me whole in ways dimes make more sense
This costly expense to best relish a soul

worse preludes, lacerations protruding mind before time
worst etudes, iterations of bonds before binds

    I fail to grasp this in its entirety. The first line in crucial to understand this poem. Is it saying that he or she crosses the line of what is permissible? That he or she can't keep behavior within what is proper. I want to give it this meaning being not sure if this is what the author intends in the poem.
