La flor

En mi jardín con cielo dorado,
un estanque de hoja cristalina,
el suave ungüento derramado,
y perfume de la rosa fina.

Densa miel que gota a gota llora
y se anega con el rocío
del ayer que en mi lecho mora
aún, cuando de ti sueño frío.

¿En cuál solar tu pistilo brota,
por el descuido trillado arrancada?
¿A quién tu ser de noche arropa,
tal la luna con gemas bañada?

Cosecho la más letal ponzoña:
de un tallo flor que no retoña.

About this poem

This poem is about losing someone you love due to carelessness and ignorance, assuming blindly that that person will stay in your arms forever, despite having their needs uncultivated, as it were. Este poema trata sobre perder a alguien que amas debido al descuido y la ignorancia, asumiendo ciegamente que esa persona permanecerá en tus brazos para siempre, a pesar de tener sus necesidades sin cultivar, por así decirlo.
