Hopeless

Odili Elizabeth Chinenyenwa 2005 (Lagos state)

The world itself is a chemistry
It's a mystery
With many trying to make mastery
But seems there's low percentage in the battery

Sometimes I wake up
Seeing everything messed up
Yeah, I have fucked up
But trying every possible best to stand up

You all see light
But all I see is darkness
It is really not right
With the way the world treats me with all carelessness

I work so hard
Trying to go far from the dark
But it keeps stretching forth its hand
Wanting to cage me in its park

Everyday seems I had just woken
Each time passes by meeting me broken
Trying to men it with a little token
Still, the dark said "I have spoken"

So I came
With all effort looking lame
Pondering in my shame
That no just person but the right person can tame

The measure of the pains are not actual
But they are so punctual
Without feelings that are mutual
With horrible tactual effects

Don't you think it's dope?
That all I crave for now is hope?
But having the answer "nope"
Won't make me cope

About this poem

Is just about a depressed person not seeing light the end of the tunnel
