Fake Defense

defend myself
condemn myself
unprincipled will to kill
falling for the thorns
mourn mourn mourn
and the old me is whose motive and discipline and skill i killed
want want want
doesn't do do do
lie lie lie
shit what have i done
what have i succumbed and drew attractive lines of legality to
throws punches and inflects my shots to my shooter
ignore it
defend myself
but is my defense okay if it is only because i can't take my penance

About this poem

This is a poem that is my life right now. Poetry is escapism for me. i use it to help me understand my brain and body. My poem is about how i am not doing what i should be doing to get to where i need and want to be. When people bring things like school, what my grades are, cleaning, being lazy, no drivers license, etc. up to me, I make things up. excuses. mad. one work to describe and encapsulate who i take on and portray lately. i'm not me. i outburst at my parents as a victim, which may hold some truth to it, but it's not the point. i make other people feel bad for trying to help me. doing everything and nothing to fix me and create discipline for me.
