I AM A WOMAN AND MORE...

I AM A WOMAN AND MORE
by Tosin Kesington

I am a woman and more…
Bold, beautiful, fierce and graceful
I am strong and sensually vulnerable
Beamed the ‘weaker sex' and underestimated
I am much more stronger than I look

I am a woman and more…
I am a goddess with hands  of multiplicity.
My breast streams with milk of compassion
Feeds and never weans humanity
My feet steep in flesh and blood  'cos

I am a woman and more…
Whether dipped in coffee or latte,
Caramelled in  bronze, gold or platinum,
Or even etched in Ebony or Ivory…
Pick your taste as I sooth your ache

I am a woman and more…
Cloaked as  a gladiator…
I strive in life’s  battlefield
Never cowed by
The desert storm  of the Savannah…

Nor buried  in Winter's avalanche
Nor scotched in the heat of Summer.
I’m fierce in the face of the hurricane
And  refuse to be drowned
by the raging Typhoon in Asia.

I am a woman and more
Comfortable in the skin of my  feminity
I relish the intricacies of my sexuality
My scars, my  valiant trophies of Victory
I am calm, powerful, humane and more!

All I want to say is that many times women get a raw deal. We demand that they be good mothers, good wives, good sex and on top of that that they remain beautiful. We never put all those demands on men.
I thank you for bringing awareness with this poem.
