Cross roads of Life

Ax.Barajas 1980 (Illinois)

Days go by hearing voices in my head.
My subconscious mind got me in a
 chokehold.
 Senses  vanish. Hard to control.
The inner beast got hold on me.

  Can't breath.
  Can't speak.

It all comes down to an act of strong
will. Demons close by whisper in my
 ear.

 "Your not gonna make it."

The cross roads of life leave me stranded
in a ditch. Battling all types of elements. Putting my limbs to the max.

Pulse begins to rise.
Heart beat begins to boil.

Sometimes I feel swimming in an endless
sea of despair. My eye sight impaired.
Got me seeing shadows on the wall.

Talking to myself on these cross roads
of life.

 Do I go through forward?
Do I go left a steady path?
Do I go right a rocky course?

All these decisions got me hitch hiking
in my head. No where to turn.
Echoes from afar, be still thee air.
Turn to my father for prayer.
Hear his voice:

Got to keep going son. Got to keep
going. Don't let the toils of life ware
 you down.
Don't let the cross roads of life be the
end. The devil can fool you. Mess with
 your head.

Got to be strong and your head up high.
You are the one who has control.
What road to go on this concrete road.

Don't let that last star you in your eyes
 lose its shine.
A brush of a cold water sensation rushes
 through my body.

In a second I am brought back to reality
 sitting in my car seat.
Got the motor running. Wind shield
wiping. I got one decision to make.

Take a deep breath. Fix that mirror.
Turn on that head light we're gonna
make it through these cross roads.
