Vernal

Lindsey Doyle

Pastoral
With days a little longer
Daffs dancing in the Dell
sun a little stronger
Young buds erupt and swell

Amorous creatures fraternise
Portentious blackbirds sing
They call for winters swift demise
They're harbingers of spring.
