The Ascent

Narrative
My head briefly graces the surface of the wake
As I reach to control every breath I take
My mental focus has surpassed my imagination
With every crashing wave I am weightless
As I surrender to the sea
With a crashing wave I emerge in the wake
I take a gentle breath
And return to the abyss
I motionless free fall just to catch myself
Observing the sea life surrounding me
And begin my ascent back to the surface.
